About Us
Texas Foster Youth, Inc. is a nonprofit statewide advocacy, leadership, and networking corporation whose mission is to improve the live of Texas Foster Youth and Alumni; and to educate the general public and policy members about the needs and concerns of Texas Foster Youth and Alumni.
This organization is a product of the Foster Youth Advocacy and Leadership Summit held In November of 2006 by Members from the California Youth Connection, which brought together foster youth from all over the State of Texas to discuss the idea of a statewide Foster Youth Advocacy Organization in The State of Texas. They Explained to us how their organization was ran, and how it worked, and what they do and have done for The Foster Care Community in The State of California. Since Then, The Texas RioGrande Legal Aid and Texas C-BAR (Texas Community Building with Attorney Resources) have spearheaded the development of the organization as well as the Texas Foster Youth Justice Project, which educates Foster Youth and Alumni about their rights and issues surrounding the transition from Foster Care to Independent Living.
